As we approach this Christmas season, remember…. It’s NOT about the presents…. it’s about living in His presence. In our classes, during the Christmas season we focus on WHY we celebrate Christmas. The teachers will be reading the story of the birth of Jesus and emphasizing that HE is the reason we celebrate Christmas. They will be reflecting on the many blessings we have been given so freely because of the gift God gave us in Jesus. Read the story of the birth of Jesus to your children from the Book of Luke. It sets such a good example for your children when they see you reading from the Bible.
Our Thanksgiving Celebration Program was a little different this year, but it was a precious program, none the less!! Typically, we host a Thanksgiving Feast and invite family and friends to share. We did not have the Feast, but the 4yr and Kindergarten classes performed a program of Thanksgiving songs, patriotic songs, and spritual songs which were recorded, and the private link was shared with the parents of the 4’s and Kindergarten classes. A BIG thank you to Sally Roberts and the 4yr and Kindergarten teachers for working with the children on their music and planning the program! And, a SPECIAL THANKS to Brent Ritter, our Youth Minister and technical person, for volunteering his time in recording, editing, and spending his weekend preparing the video!
It is with sadness that I have to tell you that our Chapel teacher and Children’s Minister of our church, Brooke Barksdale will be leaving us December 11. Brooke has been our Chapel teacher for 5 years. She has done a wonderful job teaching our children about Jesus! I appreciate her love and dedication to the children, and she will be missed. I know you join me in wishing her well as she embarks on a new avenue of children’s ministry.
Security Officer remembrance: Avery Raptis is coordinating remembering our security officers this Christmas with a gift card for each officer. You should have received an email through Memberhub from her about this remembrance. If you wish to make a donation, there is still time! Send in to your child’s teacher, cash, check (made payable to Avery Raptis) or Venmo Avery @Avery-Raptis. Thank you, in advance, for remembering our officers!

Thank you for supporting our program and sharing your child with us. It has been an interesting, but successful school year thanks to you and our amazing staff!! To simply say “thank you” for your help and cooperation this year does not seem adequate, but I sincerely appreciate all you have done to help us navigate this new and different time. Your child is a blessing to our program. May you and your family have a joyful and blessed Christmas and a HAPPY New Year!
Merry Christmas and blessings to you all!
Nancy
