We have had a terrific first month of school! We are looking forward to another wonderful month of school! During October, we usually invite our grandparents to visit us in our 3yr, 4yr, and Kindergarten classes. Unfortunately, we will not be having Grandparent’s Day this year. In addition, our Fall Festival and Potato/Chili dinner will not be taking place this month. Hopefully, we can resume large gatherings soon, but in the interest of safety for everyone, it is best that these activities be put on hold.

FOR YOUR CALENDAR:
- October 9 OUT OF SCHOOL
- October 12-16: Community Helpers Week
- October 19: NO Lunch and Learn Preschool Staff Meeting
During the week of October 12-16 in our History/Social Studies class, our 4yr and Kindergarten students focus on Community Helpers. We decided to make this week a school-wide focus and all classes learn about and recognize various community helpers. The Canine Unit of the Newnan City Police Dept. will be visiting and doing a demonstration on Wednesday, October 14. The Newnan Fire Department will be visiting us to discuss fire safety on Friday, October 16. This also coincides with our focus on fire safety because October is Fire Safety Month. There will be more information coming on other activities taking place during this week.
Trunk or Treat
Our 3yr, 4yr, and Kindergarten students usually take part in the Munchkin Masquerade that the downtown businesses provide for the community. The Munchkin Masquerade has been canceled this year, so we will be doing something different….TRUNK or TREAT. Your teacher will be providing information about your class’s trunk or treat activities. I am asking that no costumes be worn to school. Costumes have too many pieces that end up missing by the end of the day and shoes that are difficult to walk in… among other things. So, save the costumes for Halloween night! Also, to continue to abide by our COVID protocols, Trunk or Treating and Halloween parties will be limited to teachers and students in attendance. The teachers will take lots of pictures and upload them on Memberhub. I appreciate your understanding!
Thank you, again, for your support of your teachers and the program! Your children are a joy!
Blessings! Nancy
