Thank you for entrusting your most prized possession, your child, to us. We are blessed and honored to have you enrolled in our Preschool and Kindergarten. We, the staff, thank you in advance for your grace and flexibility as we navigate this challenging time. The energy your children bring to our school is uplifting and exciting for us all!
Important Information for Parents
First day of school: September 1
Tuition is due by the 15th of every month. Cash or check only
Guidelines for Children
Memberhub: Each teacher and I will send you a newsletter at the beginning of each month. We do this through Memberhub. Please read all emails, notifications, newsletters sent to you through Memberhub. This is the way we communicate with you. In addition, the teachers post pictures from their class activities on Memberhub. All the information is for YOUR benefit, to keep you informed. The teacher and I can see who opens up the emails we are sending you.
Security Team: There will be off-duty Newnan Police Officers on our campus each school day. Our church is supportive of our proactive approach to security and funds 50% of the cost. Preschool is paying the remaining 50%. The total cost of Security officers is approximately $18,000 per school year. Our Children’s Consignment Sale helps pay for our Security Team.
Weather Days: In the case of BAD weather: If Coweta County School System is out of school because of weather, we are closed as well. If Coweta County School System should delay their opening hours, we will NOT open on that day.
In the case of EMERGENCY, it is VERY IMPORTANT that while your child is present at school, that I be able to reach you. Please do not turn off your cell phone or go to a place where I cannot reach you while your child is here at school. There is nothing worse for your child than to be sitting in my office sick or injured and me not be able to get in touch with you.
Illnesses: Your child must be fever free, vomit free, and diarrhea free for 48 hours from the last incident of the above-mentioned symptoms before coming back to school. In addition, for the safety and health of everyone in your class, please DO NOT send your child if he/she does not feel well, has a “nasty, green” nose, congested cough, low-grade fever, etc. We are aware it is allergy season. Talk to your pediatrician about what to do to clear up the runny, “green” nose before sending your child to school.
When the child enters the classroom, the child will first wash his/her hands. Then, temperatures will be taken. Temperatures will be taken periodically throughout the day. If your child’s temperature is 100 degrees or higher, we will call you to come to pick up your child.
We are fortunate to have Danika Ford on staff as our School Nurse. Danika is a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Georgia. Danika and I have been in consultation with medical personnel and we are staying informed on all the appropriate agency guidelines.
You should have received our day to day classroom/school protocols in an email from me in July. We will maintain those protocols throughout the school year. As stated in those protocols, deep cleaning of the classroom, and items in the classroom will be done at the end of every school day. The main cleaning product we will be using is Bioesque. Bioesque is an EPA registered Botanical Disinfectant. Also, we have purchased a professional grade fogger. We will use the Bioesque in the fogger as well as spraying surfaces with it from a spray bottle throughout the day. We will also be using other cleaning products and disinfectant wipes.
In the event that a person tests positive for COVID 19, we will notify the parents of the class. The person’s identity will remain anonymous. A staff member may not reveal the identity. The infected person must quarantine at home for 14 days and be fever free for 48 hours without medication before returning to school.
The health and safety of our staff and students is our first priority. This is a fluid situation and we recognize that procedures may change. Again, please be alert to signs of any illness in your child, not just COVID 19, and keep them home if they are sick.
Lunch and Learn:
Lunch and Learn is an extended day program. This year, Lunch and Learn will be conducted a little differently. Each class will stay in their own classroom with their own classmates. During this time, the children participate in fun learning activities by playing games, doing crafts, and playing on the playground. Send your child with a lunch and we know he/she is staying. You will be billed at the end of the month for the number of days your child stayed in that month. Cost is $6 per day. Carpool for Lunch and Learn begins at 12:45pm and ends at 1pm. Late Pick up charge from Lunch and Learn: $1 per minute per child for every minute late.
CARPOOL Line: For ALL age children:
Drop off: Arrival time for class is 5 minutes before your child’s class begins. Please use the carpool line from the first day of school. At drop off, please pull in the car pool lane and get your child out of the car. Wait beside your car for a teacher to take your child’s hand. If your child cries, that is OKAY! We promise to call you if your child is not happy within 45 minutes of arrival! We want your child to be happy.
Pick up: If you are late picking up, your child will be placed in Lunch and Learn and you will be billed $6.
Pick up times:
Separate checks: Please write separate checks for tuition payment and Lunch and Learn payment. We apply these payments to two separate line item accounts. Please write your child’s name and teacher’s name in the MEMO section of the check to insure accurate recording of payment.
Consignment Sale: September 18 and 19. This is our BIG fundraiser for the preschool. These funds help pay the security officers’ salaries, the salaries of the “Specials” class teachers (Science, Music, Movement, Computer, Chapel), and many other things benefiting our preschool. (In the past these funds have purchased playground equipment, playground groundcover, a laminator, security cameras and system, furniture, etc.) We need your help! We ask every parent to consign at least 30 items AND volunteer to work the sale. If you have questions on how to consign, please see me, email me, or call me. I emailed a Class Assignment Work Schedule to each parent. Your teacher has copies if you need another one. Childcare is available for all shifts. If you need childcare, you may send the bottom portion of the Class Assignment Work schedule to your child’s teacher letting us know you need childcare. Thank you, in advance, for your help!
Consignment Sale Committee: We would love to have you join the Consignment Sale Committee. There are benefits to joining the Committee. Our chairperson is KB Uehling (Griffin’s mom) and co-chair is Kelly Sargent (Ellie’s mom). If you would like to join the committee, please let me know and I will put one of these ladies in touch with you.
If I can help you in any way, let me know. If you are looking for a church home, we would love for you to join us. Visit our church website at www.newnanfumc.org for more information about the church service times, Sunday school classes, Bible studies, life groups, music programs, children programs, and a lot more!
Thank you for supporting our school! We are excited about what God is doing in our Preschool and Kindergarten! We are looking forward to a great year!
Blessings to you all!
