As we approach this Christmas season, remember – it’s NOT about the presents, it’s about living in His presence. In our classes, during the Christmas season we focus on WHY we celebrate Christmas. The teachers will be reading the story of the birth of Jesus and emphasizing that HE is the reason we celebrate Christmas. They will be reflecting on the many blessings we have been given so freely because of the gift God gave us in Jesus. Read the story of the birth of Jesus to your children from the Book of Luke. It sets such a good example for your children when they see you reading from the Bible.
Our Thanksgiving Feast hosted by our 4yr and Kindergarten classes was wonderful! We had over 230 guests to celebrate such a special time. Thank you to all the parents who donated food AND time to help make our Feast a success. Our preschool Parent Council and some volunteer parents worked diligently in the kitchen to prepare and serve the meal. Thank you to Sprayberry’s for donating our turkeys! And, lastly, thank you to the teachers who worked with the children in preparing them for their program and helped serve. A great day resulted from the hard work of many people. Again, thank you all!
Our Kindergarten Class will be performing some Christmas Songs at Barnes and Noble on Friday, December 6 at 11 am. The Newnan Carnegie Library Foundation is holding a Book Fair at Barnes and Noble in Newnan December 5-December 8 from 9a to 9 pm. Please go by Barnes and Noble and do some shopping on those days. If you purchase anything, please let the salesperson know that you are supporting the Carnegie Library. A portion of your purchase will go to the Carnegie Library Foundation for the purchase of more books and items for the Carnegie library.
Thank you for your donations to Christmas in Coweta! Our first table filled up and we have set up another table!! We are still collecting toys, money, and gift cards to be used by Bridging the Gap to help those in need. The deadline to turn in items is December 12. Thank you for your generosity!
Speaking of generosity… Avery Raptis is coordinating remembering our security officers this Christmas with a gift card for each officer. You should have received an email through Memberhub from her about this remembrance. If you wish to make a donation, there is still time! Send in to your child’s teacher, cash, check (made payable to Avery Raptis) or Venmo Avery @Avery-Raptis. Thank you, in advance, for remembering our officers!
